Introduction to Theatre

A comprehensive introduction to the theatre arts, including theatre history, play analysis, basic acting, and an overview of technical theatre.


Basic Acting

A look at the basics of performance, including reader's theatre, improvisation, comedic and dramatic scene studies, and audition practice.

Pre-Requisite: Intro to Theatre


Advanced Acting

A performance class that focuses on the craft and theory of acting. The culmination of the class is a full-scale production.

Pre-Requisites: Intro to Theatre & Basic Acting


Stagecraft

This course broadly covers each aspect of technical theatre - design, construction, lighting, sound, costume, theatrical makeup, and production management.

Pre-Requisites: Intro to Theatre


Playwriting - Dual Enrollment

Students will read, analyze, and discuss the theories and contexts of a variety of dramatic literature, then take those skills to write an original short play as a culmination of the course.

Pre-Requisites: None (Must be a junior or senior)


​Devised Theatre

A one-of-a-kind class that combines collaborative art, scriptwriting, improvisation, and drama therapy to develop unique plays based on the life experiences and creativity of the students.

Pre-Requisites: None (Must be a sophomore, junior or senior)

The International Thespian Society (ITS) is a global honor society specifically created for high school theatre students. ITS members will be able to participate in meetings and social events with our troupe, get tickets to various productions in the Omaha Metro area, and compete at the Nebraska State Thespian Festival every January. ITS functions as Warrior Theatre's social center.
